Alexander Smith
Not just an artist, but a fun-weirdo, a joker and a thief… of special moments.
And the 152nd best Blue-Steel poser on the street… depending on the street.
“Alexander brings the vibe!”
-Moshe
“He masters the craft of story and artistry into images, and whats more, he is so kind! Someone you actually want to have with you on your wedding day”
-Robyn
“Love is more than a freaking kiss”
So when I tell your love story, I’m looking for the tension… You know… that spark of anticipation before pressing your lips together.
For me… it’s all about the story, and how I can bring my artistic eye to show off the best parts of your big day. Not just giving you pictures of your wedding, but works of art that make you remember how you felt.
I’ve been so blessed to be able to shoot over 1400 weddings since quitting my “day-job” and each wedding still gets me totally amped!
I’m not the hero of your wedding day… you are! And I believe that the experience of having your picture taken is just as important as actually having awesome photos and as Audrey said it…
“THE HAPPIEST GIRLS ARE THE PRETTIEST GIRLS”
- AUDREY HEPBURN
So my job is to make sure that I bring the vibe to make you laugh and the artistic vision to make that joy into ART.
A good wedding photographer needs to be able to read the room… when a moment calls for a joke, a solemn silence or the extraction of a bridesmaid that is challenging the bride ;-)
And I know without a doubt that I was woven and spun in my mother’s womb to do this… and I LOVE IT! It’s just comes naturally - the anticipation of a moment and the vision to see composition and “the way that light attaches to a girl”. BestJobEver!!
So that said… I am so grateful for this God-given gift that gets me invited to share in the most precious moments of someone’s life that I can not but respond in humble praise to Jesus for it… and for creating everything good like my wife, chocolate, e-minor, sunrise, dusk and my favourite energy drink… COFFEE!
Alexander lives happily in Johannesburg, South Africa with his big family of six and a menagerie of animals in an urban homestead. Come visit sometime!
